LIBBY CATALDI holds a doctorate in education from the University of Pittsburgh and has been an educator all her life. For seventeen years (1987 – 2004) she was head of The Calverton School, an independent day school in Maryland.

STAY CLOSE is her first book. She lives part of the year in Florence, Italy where she is a proud member of the Florence Dragon Boat Ladies, a rowing team of breast cancer survivors. She also serves on the Board of the International School of Florence and is a member of the American International League of Women.

PATRICK MACAFEE, Ph.D., has worked in the field of addiction and recovery for forty years. He is a California licensed Family Therapist and holds a doctorate in psychology. He is a graduate of University of California, Riverside, Pepperdine University and Cambridge Graduate School of Psychology. In addition, he is an accredited addiction specialist by The American Academy of Health Care Providers in the Addictive Disorders. DR. MACAFEE is on the faculty as an instructor at the University of California, Riverside (Extension), California Baptist University, Riverside and San Bernardino Valley College, San Bernardino, California. He is Director of Clinical Training at LaVista Recovery & Wholeness Center for Women in San Jacinto, California, and former Clinical Director of Sunrise Recovery Ranch in Riverside. He is co-owner of Addictions & Family Therapy Group, maintaining a private practice working with addicts/alcoholic and families. He has also been a Community Service Provider for both the Betty Ford Center, Rancho Mirage California and Hazelden, Center City, Minnesota.
