This is a place where those of us who love addicts can STAY CLOSE together.
Like many parents of addicts, I lived in the dark and in denial about my son’s addiction. I didn’t want to share my pain: I felt shame, confusion and hurt, so I kept the secret. It took me a long time to learn that addiction lives in the darkness and we can defeat it only by bringing it into the light where it can be healed. That’s why my sons and I joined together to write Stay Close. So many of us suffer alone.
We hope that this space will provide an opportunity where we can all reach out in safety, kindness and compassion.
You’ll find here weekly meditations that I’ve written to offer hope and inspiration. Please respond if you want, ask a question or reach out in any way that you think might help.
With respect and understanding,
